greenheadchick asked:

I am just learning beading for a hobby and the books that explain everything are all the way from l0 to 20 dollars and this doesn’t fit into my budget. If anyone could copy a few pages and send them to me I would be glad to pay for postage and such and copying. This is a good hobby when you can’t work and it passes the time of day, maybe someday I can sell a little something to get price of beads back, right now I am getting old necklaces from the thrift shop and tearing them apart for the beads, but it’s working! Thanks for any help.

Goldfellow – Client Experience

jade jewelry
Janis Rafkin asked:

Below is an experience one of our client’s requested we share with the public:

Let’s face it. Today’s consumers are skeptical, and with good reason. Can you blame them? With all the marketing hype and sales pitches people receive today, we are all a bit jaded.

In April I decided to sell some various pieces of unused gold jewelry. Gold was hovering at $1000, and my children have ZERO interest in jewelry. So I gathered some various pieces and thought, how hard could this be? Little did I know.

The Internet has hundreds of websites all soliciting your unwanted gold jewels. So with blind faith, I sent a small sample to a dealer in New York, and was given a complete run around. That was one package I mailed out, and I had to provide the shipping and the insurance of $5000 myself. I knew the approximate weight in pennyweight of the gold, and so had a reasonable dollar amount in my mind of the worth of the jewelry. Needless to say, I was offered less than 50% of what GoldFellow eventually paid me for that same package of gold jewelry. That discussion with the NY dealer went on for several weeks, with my request to return the jewelry, which they did, but only after I sent them a “money order” to pay for the shipping and insurance back to me. That little transaction cost me over $120. Go figure that.

I had sent a smaller package to an unnamed dealer (although highly advertised on TV and Internet) in Florida. Again, I knew pretty well what the weight was, and what it might bring from a reputable dealer. Wow! What a surprise!

This nameless dealer offered me $310, and was extremely unhappy when I called him. They did not call me prior to just sending me a check for $310.49 for approximately 95 DWT of gold. I of course called them and expressed my concern and disbelief at the payment, at which time, they said well, we can send you “maybe” another check say for $300.

As you can imagine, I was not happy, and at that time certainly had no trust in this nameless company. I said I am returning your check and I want you to return my jewelry. Well, that took quite a while and a number or phone calls to finally have the jewelry returned.

In the meantime I had found Michael and Robin Gusky of GoldFellow. Again, I found them on the Internet, and they have without a doubt the most fantastic site I had found. I sent them a package, which they provided free FedEx shipping and insurance of the package I had originally sent to New York.

It was a very easy process, and I could track the shipment on the Internet and knew they had received it. Within a matter of hours of their receipt of the shipment, I received an e-mail from them, and several hours later, a call from Michael Gusky.

Michael told me the exact weight of the 14K and the 18K and quoted me the amount they would pay which was a very fair settlement. The group in New York had offered for the same package $2000, and Gold Fellows paid me $4400, which was a very fair and honest settlement.

I was thrilled to find that there are reputable and honest people that you can do business with, and had a comforting feeling that I would absolutely do business with them again, and additionally highly recommend them to anyone in the market to sell any jewelry.

After many phone calls with the nameless dealer in Florida, they finally returned my gold jewelry, and I of course had already returned their $310 check.

I became quite busy, but did have the package from the nameless dealer in Florida on my desk, and this week, end of June, decided I would give Michael and Robin Gusky at GoldFellow a call. I told them what the weight was (according to the nameless dealer in Florida), and said I would FedEx the package to them.

GoldFellow received the package the next day, and immediately called me and paid me $1800 for the same package I had sent to the nameless dealer in Florida who paid me $310. This is the end of June, and gold does fluctuate, and is down from what it was in April, but I had complete confidence that GoldFellow gave me the absolute best price one could receive in the cash for gold marketplace today.

Michael and Robin have created a great business, and the most important part of their business, is that they do care about their customers, and they are the most honest and ethical dealers I have had the pleasure to do business with.

I have my own company, and if you take care of your customers with integrity and honesty, your business will grow based on your reputation. The website they have created is customer friendly; you can track your shipments at all times. You can feel confident that they are working for your best interest. For anyone wishing to sell unused gold jewelry, you can be totally assured that Michael and Robin will be working in your behalf and have total confidence that you will receive the highest price from someone you can have total trust and confidence in.

Thank you Robin and Michael!!!

Anniversary Dates To Remember

jade jewelry
Alex Daniels asked:

Almost everyone has heard about the traditions of the silver and gold anniversary. These are incredibly important dates in the married lives of any couple. One could argue that these milestones have even more significance today, with the rate of divorce higher in North America than ever before.

The 25 (silver) and 50 (gold) year milestones of a couple’s wedding anniversary are not the only dates that have meaning, titles, and symbols attached, however. In fact, there is a wedding anniversary name for every year that a couple is married, and some sources will suggest that gifts exchanged incorporate the materials the occasion is named after. To really impress your wife, you can not only remember your anniversary date but surprise her by showing that you know what the year stands for, societally speaking.

For the purposes of this article, the materials have been sorted on a five year cycle, with the exception of the first year. Keep in mind, though, that each year up until year fifteen has a specific material. After the fifteenth year, the intervals are in groups of five years. You will no doubt find that some years of marriage are more difficult than others; these years are especially important when it comes to your anniversary, as you will want to be reminded and remind your significant other that you can get through the tough times.

Year One (Paper): This is a very important anniversary year, and the reason why should be obvious to anyone. In keeping with the traditional label, you can give each other poems or stories, or simply a recounting of the highlights of the past year. Photographs also count as paper gifts. Some couples choose to go the modern route for this anniversary, and according to some sources the appropriate gift for this occasion is a clock (including watches; alarm clocks are also appropriate).

Year Five (Wood): The fifth year of marriage is generally regarded as the first really difficult one. It is important on this occasion to really dig deep to make this anniversary special. Most couples find that they have at least one child by this anniversary, so it is important to arrange some time for yourselves. Some gifts to consider might be items of furniture to update the look of your bedroom, or a set of tools to help with projects around the house for the handy husband. Modern custom also allows for silverware to be given as a gift on this anniversary.

Year Ten (Tin or Aluminum): By the tenth year, most couples are fairly balanced and have a good routine going. Frames to hold family or even wedding pictures, cookware, or an engraved plaque with significant meaning are all special gifts on this occasion. Modern custom allows for couples to exchange diamond gifts on this anniversary as well, which makes it easy on the husband who prefers to just buy jewelry.

Year Fifteen (Crystal): Crystal means that it is time for an updated dining set, one that will be used solely on important occasions. The idea here, of course, is that any kids are now past the age where they are likely to get into cupboards and destroy expensive dinner-ware.

Year Twenty (China): Hosting parties is becoming all the rage at the two decade point in your marriage. It’s time to update the china collection or, if you didn’t get any for the wedding, to create one. Modern traditions also say that platinum is an appropriate material for this occasion, and you might want to consider replacing your wedding rings or other types of platinum jewelry.

Year Twenty-Five (Silver Jubilee): Somewhere between the twenty and twenty fifth anniversaries is the second long rough patch that most couples experience in their marriages. As with the fifth year, this is a time of significant change in the lives of most couples, as kids have all or mostly moved out, or at the very least have grown up and are independent. Couple will often look at each other and find that they have to totally readjust to living on their own again.

Year Thirty (Pearl): Pearls are one of the easiest options when it comes to material to incorporate as a gift, at least if you are the husband. It might be more difficult to find a pearl gift for the husband, so ladies should consider the modern allowance for another diamond gift.

Year Thirty-Five (Jade): There are plenty of decorations and ornaments made from jade, so keeping the tradition of year thirty-five is easy for both husband and wife. You might even consider a trip to an area of the world that is famous for jade production, such as India, as a great anniversary getaway.

At this point in most people’s marriage, they are too comfortable to be worried about customary traditions and gifts. The next big date on the anniversary calendar is the gold anniversary at fifty, with the emerald five years later and the diamond celebrations five years after that. When outlined in an article such as this, it may seem as though reaching the 60 year, diamond jubilee is a piece of cake. Consider, though, that couples that marry very young will still not see this anniversary until they are in their eighties, and the concept of special anniversaries can be seen from a whole new perspective. All anniversaries are special occasions, and knowing the materials that mark the year will make it all the more significant.
