I bought a small jade plant from Home Depot. The more I learn about training my Fujian the more I want to try and train the jade plant. What I want to know is can I use this jade to make a bonsai? It’s only 6 or 7 inches tall and I currently have it in a 4 inch pot. It’s in really good health.

i have lots of jade which grows fast and even reroots when a leaf fallsto the ground. as hardy as it seems to be when i cut off a branch and plant it within 5 minutes the leaves curl up and it looks like its dying. what causes that to happen? some have done that and then perk up. is this normal behavior for jade? if not how can such a hardy plant be this touchy?

We have a jade plant that is top heavy. Last night the plant broke at the base. I’ve looked online, but there seems to be differing opinions on how to save it — put the stem in water, or let it dry out.

Also I’m pretty sure that it was overwatered, and not pruned enough. We have since taken steps to correct that and it was growing beautifully (but with a nasty lean). Though I can’t change these things, I would like to save this beautiful plant.

Any suggestions?
