I bought a small jade plant from Home Depot. The more I learn about training my Fujian the more I want to try and train the jade plant. What I want to know is can I use this jade to make a bonsai? It’s only 6 or 7 inches tall and I currently have it in a 4 inch pot. It’s in really good health.

We have a jade plant that is top heavy. Last night the plant broke at the base. I’ve looked online, but there seems to be differing opinions on how to save it — put the stem in water, or let it dry out.

Also I’m pretty sure that it was overwatered, and not pruned enough. We have since taken steps to correct that and it was growing beautifully (but with a nasty lean). Though I can’t change these things, I would like to save this beautiful plant.

I have many plants including this beautiful Jade plant, all of a sudden it has started to drop a leave about every other day & the leave (or pedal) is somewhat lighter in color. I test the plant before I water it with a moister meter & feed it about once a month. It’s about 3-4 years old & a good sized plant, I really don’t want to loose it. The leaves seem to hang down & they used to be standing outwards before.
