We have a jade plant that is top heavy. Last night the plant broke at the base. I’ve looked online, but there seems to be differing opinions on how to save it — put the stem in water, or let it dry out.

Also I’m pretty sure that it was overwatered, and not pruned enough. We have since taken steps to correct that and it was growing beautifully (but with a nasty lean). Though I can’t change these things, I would like to save this beautiful plant.

Any suggestions?
