What are those seed-like things around the roots of my jade plant?
wondering asked:
Are they seeds? I just bought the plant and tried repotting it today, and noticed many small clusters of what look like seeds. My other jade plant didn’t have these. They’re a little smaller than the size of a pencil eraser. I read somewhere jade seeds are very fine and look like dust. (definitely not what this looks like) What is it? And should I try and remove all of them from the roots? (The plant is not doing too well, and I’m wondering if these things are partially to blame.)

sounds like a fungus or parasite.. my jades dont have the little seed like things either. Pull them off.. if the jade is not doing well already, you cant hurt it.. if you loose the plant.. try starting new ones from the leaves.. if you pull off just one leaf and pop it down in the soil, it will make a new plant. or you can put a little branch in a glass of water and grow a new plant too.
I thought for a while… Could be a fertilizer, too…. Jades dont like too much light or water.. they are like cactus’s.
