Where can I send some stones to that I believe to be jade for a professional opinion?

Paul B asked:

I found several pieces of it in Costa Rica which is not known to have any actual jade deposits.

It looks like jade, feels like jade, and is just as hard as jade.

Don’t send them anywhere… take them to a geologist or geotech and get them to identify them. Most Universitys have geologists and geotecs on site. Try there. Otherwise take pictures and email them to a geologist. They may be able to identify the rock feom the photo.

Check your local area for a gem testing lab . Hey dont send them.
    Jadeite Na2O.Al2O3 Hardness 7 specific gravity 3.33.with a refractive index of 1.66..
Nephrite Ca,Mg,Fe, Hardness 6.5 specific gravity 2.96 with a refractive index of 1.62
These are both jade. A gemmologist will help you
